For years I avoided having a personal website. When I served as de facto administrator of the Duck of Minerva, this wasn’t much of an issue: I just posted relevant material there. That’s no longer an option. Moreover, I’m souring on sites like and Research Gate. Georgetown just switched to a new system.

So, I guess, this is where I’m at. I’m using a barely customized version of the current default WordPress theme at Dreamhost. Yay?

Over the coming weeks, I’ll add the requisite bells and whistles. Crucially, this includes copyright-compliant versions of my academic work, including forthcoming pieces that I’m itching to make available.

If you want to read my commentary, I blog at Lawyers, Guns and Money. I’m also reasonably active on Twitter.
